By Becca Levy, Rosh Eidah of Tiferet

After three weeks of rehearsing, Tiferet presented our Star Spangled Mesibah to all of camp last Saturday! Mesibah is a 4th of July Talent Show for the whole camp presented by Tiferet. Each year has a top-secret theme where the Tiferet chanichim (campers) present a skit, songs, and dances.

The theme of this year’s skit in between talent acts was called “Mesi-Mystery” and all of our chanichim performed in last’s night’s Mesibah! This year, the script this year was written and director by our Drama Specialist, Julianne, and Evan, a Tiferet madrich (counselor). With their hard work and the help of all of the Tiferet madrichim (counselors) and moomchim (specialists) the chanichim were able to put on a fantastic show! Everyone performed with incredible energy and passion and the rest of camp watched in delight! All of our hard work paid off in an incredible performance, and we couldn’t be more proud of all the energy, effort, and dedication the chanichim put into this year’s Mesibah!

With Mesibah behind us, Tiferet transitioned into our last week at camp. We have lot of special events planned for the chanichim this week. On Monday, we had Artist’s Night where the chanichim made an “artist’s covenant.” Tonight is Erev Tzrif (Cabin Night), and the chanichim also have the final Studio Culmination to look forward to next Friday!

We also had a field trip yesterday to Nagawaukee park for a day of relaxation, fun, and to look at our art in a new light! We began our day at the park with time spent in studio, where the chanichim used their surroundings to explore their art through nature. After studio we enjoyed a picnic lunch of hotdogs grilled by myself and the Tiferet madrichim. Then a very special guest, Billy Jonas, held a small concert in the park just for Tiferet! Then we had some menucha (rest), followed by chug meyuchad (special activities) such as a nature hike, Harry Potter chug, and Science chug. The last thing we did was play field games with the entire Eidah! We ended our day with a big water balloon fight, packed up our stuff, and headed back to camp. It was a fantastic trip!

These last three and a half weeks in Tiferet Aleph have been amazing, and I am so lucky to have watched the chanichim continue to grow, learn, create, and of course, have fun! While it’s sad to think we only have a few days left together, I am sure each and every chanich will come home filled with stories, new growth, and excitement!
