Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute (OSRUI) strives to be an open and welcoming Jewish community. We are committed to growing our intentional camp community and tending to its roots: openness, inclusivity, sensitivity, Jewish tradition, and the belief that we are all created B’tzelem Elohim – in God’s image. OSRUI is a place where each community member can feel safe and supported, able to enjoy all that we have to offer, and have the opportunity to become the best version of themselves.

OSRUI is rooted in a long history and rich traditions of excellence. A second home to more than 1000 campers and staff each summer, our community comes together to experience the fun and magic of Jewish camping.

For more than 70 years, the OSRUI community has created a fun, supportive environment where campers can explore, challenge themselves, and develop their passions. At camp, kids of diverse abilities and backgrounds strengthen their Jewish identities, all while surrounded by beautiful facilities and highly skilled staff.

Camp activities are led by caring and committed staff members (many of whom were campers themselves). We are also fortunate to work in partnership with dozens of congregations from our area and over 50 Rabbis, Cantors, and Educators who spend time with us at camp in the summer. These leaders from our community and from our synagogues build relationships with our campers that provide encouragement and support for every camper to realize their full potential.

Our screen-free environment allows campers to embrace the challenge of learning new skills in athletics, aquatics, the arts, and adventure and nature programs. What campers don’t realize, is they are learning communication, collaboration, creativity, grit and empathy – the predictors of success in camp, school and beyond.

In addition to daily activities, all-camp programs, and special events, campers and staff immerse themselves in a wide range of innovative Jewish pursuits and creative spiritual experiences that are the soul of OSRUI

OSRUI is a proud member of the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ). Learn more about the URJ, Reform Judaism, and our approach to teaching Israel education here. You can also visit the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism to explore our Jewish commitment to Tikkun Olam through the important social justice issues in our community.

From the youngest of our campers to the oldest, we provide every child who spends a summer at OSRUI with the opportunity to grow into a more self-confident version of themselves, become more deeply connected to our camp community, and feel a sense of belonging to the Jewish community as a whole.

OSRUI is more than a summer of fun, it is an experience that lasts a lifetime.
