Week 2 in Kallah Bet!
As the Oconomowoc temperatures cool, things in Kallah have been heating up!
The Extra-Ordinary of Camp
There is always something (usually many things) that stand out each and every day. Yesterday, was what we call an “extra-ordinary day” because it was Yom Kallah/Tzofim (Kallah/Tzofim Day).
Show Us Your Jewish Summer Memories!
This photo project is just one small part of the URJ’s July online theme, which will focus on and highlight the many opportunities for Reform Jewish summer youth experiences. Share your memories and we’ll feature you in our online Facebook album!
Never Too Late for Camp
The community here doesn’t notice differences, they instead savor each kid’s uniqueness. They nurture each camper on a journey together exploring developing values and beliefs.
Mosh Campers Reflect on Previous Trips
Everyone in Moshavah is looking forward to our final tiyul this coming week and we are happy that the forecast is sunny but not too hot.
Shabbat Shalom from OSRUI!
Despite the heat, it’s been another great week at OSRUI! Shabbat Shalom from all of us.
Chalutzim Update!
Another week is coming to end here at OSRUI and we are just amazed at how fast the time is flying by!
Sacred Time at Camp
While in some ways it is hard to believe that the first Shabbat is almost upon us, it also feels like we have been here forever, or more precisely perhaps, never left.
Shalom from Kallah!
The session is off to a great start—we’ve settled into our cabins, started chugim (our specialty activities that include arts, drama, dance, photography, sailing, sports, filmmaking, and cooking), and met the counselors in our first evening program.
A Star Spangled Mesibah!
With the whole camp together, we celebrated American Independence Day. It was an incredible display of talent, and I was so proud of everyone who contributed.
Israeli Scout Highlight Video
The Israeli Scouts (Tzofim) visited camp last week. Here are some highlights of their visit!
Living in mini-Israel
Actually, I am amazed at how much Hebrew is spoken at OSRUI in general. While I expected this in Chalutzim, it seems like all the staff and segel as well as older campers can easily toss off at least a few phrases at any given time.
Water Activities at Camp!
It has been another hot day at camp today! Check out this video of some of the water activities happening around camp!
The Gift of Camp
At OSRUI, we are often oblivious to the outside world and the passage of time. That is in fact one of the magical elements of summer camp…we wake each day and eat together and pray together and learn together and have amazing fun together as a community…but it is largely disconnected from normal time telling.
Heat Wave!
To combat the heat wave, OSRUI has a special schedule in place that provides lots of extra water fun as well as regular programming in our air conditioned buildings.
